The Tour.

Once we have put on our lifejackets and adjusted the footrests on our kayaks, we will be ready to set off in an easterly direction towards Salerno.

After passing through the port and sea harbour of Amalfi, we soon reach the tiny village of Atrani.

Paddling along the coast, we will be able to admire the views of houses clinging to the cliffsides and the luxuriant terrace gardens of Ravello, Minori and Maiori.

We will also see enchanting waterfalls tumbling from the cliffs straight into the sea, as well as sea caves containing sulphurous springs. Some of these caves are large enough for us to paddle into for some ten of yards.

Finally, we put in at the superb Bay of Cavallo Morto (Dead Horse Bay), where we will halt for a rest and a swim in crystal-clear water.

The excursion continues as we paddle along high cliffs, with no landing stages. We shall see watch-towers built by the viceroys of Naples in olden times, and then we shall round the Capo D'Orso (the Orso headland).

We reach the quiet bay of Erchie after paddling through rock pools and snorkelling among the fronds of the Neptune grass which grows on the sea bed.

Finally we put in at the picturesque seaside village of Cetara, where we shall land, have our packed lunch and explore this charming village on foot.

On our way back to Lido delle Sirene we shall stop at the beaches that we skipped on the way out, thus rounding off a full day at sea.
